A short letter to my son

31/08/2018

Dear Son

On the day we brought you home from the hospital, you filled my heart with so much joy and happiness. I’ve to admit that the first few months were very tough for me but together, we pulled it through.

You are getting smarter and taller every day. You have your own very unique personality. Always asking questions and demanding an explanation every time I said no to some of your requests. Nowadays you insist on brushing your own teeth and choosing your own clothes to wear. You said you want to look nice every day.

I hope and pray that you will grow into an amazing person. Please know that life is full of ups and downs, sometimes you’re on top and sometimes you’re in the bottom. Don’t think too much about it. Carry on and take a small step every day to reach your goals. Always follow your heart. Be kind to people. Listen more and talk less (like your father).

I will always be here for you, no matter what. xx

Please check out the next talented artist in our blog circle, Abigail Fahey and continue through all the artists until you get back to me!

Welcome to Artefact Motherhood. This is a collaboration of artists from around the world who have come together to share our stories of the joys and struggles in our journeys. Through our writings and photographs, we want to create memories that are more than photographs with dates written on the back. These are the artefacts we are leaving behind for our children and for generations to come.

I love the way you capture your sons personality. You can feel his energy and joy. I relate to your words so much! Especially as I watch
my own son become more independent. I loved the part about being kind. Kindness is so very important. Beautiful job, Min.

I absolutely adore this set! Beautiful black and white images filled with emotion and great storytelling. What a great idea to write a letter to your son!

Your images are so incredibly gorgeous, such wonderful storytelling and I love your advice to him, such beautiful words.
