“Photographs open doors into the past, but they also allow a look into the future. “- Sally Mann
Time is slipping fast and I don’t think I have enough time. I wish I had the inspiration sooner but as they say better late than never. Lately, I have been feeling a bit melancholic, I blame my hormones or the fact that I am getting older with each passing day.
I told myself I need to document my parents’ cherished home, fondly known as “rumah mak.”
The continuous flow of people coming and going, the laughter and energy of the grandchildren running around, and the gradual passage of time etching lines on my parents’ faces – all of these facets have struck a chord within me, compelling me to preserve them. With determination, I aim to meticulously capture every nuance during the weekends, be it moments of joy or sorrow.
With each passing weekend, my intention is to capture not only the physical essence of the home but also the intangible spirit that lingers. The smiles shared over cups of tea, the stories exchanged during family gatherings, and the wisdom imparted by my parents, whose hair is now touched by silver strands – all of these moments deserve to be etched into time.
Through the lens of my camera, I aim to encapsulate the essence of ‘rumah mak,’ preserving it as a testament to the love, resilience, and continuity that defines our family, Insyallah.
Betapa bermakna gambar-gambarnya. Tersentuh pula membaca penulisannya. Tahniah Siti Aminah atas projek photography terbaru ini. Pasti satu keluarga sangat menghargai usaha kamu. Saya look forward untuk jadi penyaksi setia projek ini untuk minggu-minggu mendatang insyaAllah. Moga banyak yang dapat saya pelajari.
